Description
This feature request proposes enhancing the search functionality within Loopy Pro's project browser by introducing advanced filtering and sorting options. Currently, users can search for projects by name, but the lack of additional filters and sorting mechanisms can make it challenging to locate specific projects, especially as the number of saved projects grows.
Problems
- Limited Search Capabilities: The current search function is restricted to project names, making it difficult to find projects based on other attributes such as date modified, tags, or usage frequency.
- Inefficient Project Management: Without advanced filtering and sorting, users may spend excessive time scrolling through long lists of projects to find the desired one.
- Reduced Workflow Efficiency: The inability to quickly locate specific projects can disrupt the creative flow, particularly during live performances or time-sensitive sessions.
Proposed Solution
- Advanced Filtering Options: Introduce filters that allow users to narrow down projects based on criteria such as date created, date modified, tags, and usage frequency.
- Sorting Mechanisms: Enable sorting of projects alphabetically, by date, or by custom-defined parameters to facilitate quicker access.
- Tagging System: Implement a tagging feature that allows users to assign custom tags to projects for better categorization and retrieval.
- Search Within Tags: Allow the search function to include tags, enabling users to find projects associated with specific themes or sessions.
Examples
- Live Performance Preparation: A musician preparing for a live set can quickly filter projects by the "Live Set" tag and sort them by date modified to ensure they are using the most recent versions.
- Genre-Based Organization: A producer working across multiple genres can tag projects accordingly (e.g., "Hip-Hop," "Ambient") and filter them when focusing on a specific style.
- Collaboration Tracking: Teams collaborating on projects can use tags like "Collab" or "Draft" to monitor the progress and status of shared projects.
Benefits
- Improved Project Accessibility: Advanced search and filtering options enable users to locate projects more efficiently.
- Enhanced Workflow Efficiency: Reduces time spent searching for projects, allowing users to focus more on creative tasks.
- Better Project Organization: Tagging and sorting features help maintain a structured and organized project library.

Improve search in project browser
Currently when searching for a project in the project browser, only the current folder is searched. So we miss out on two of the main benefits of having a search box:
1) Saving time by not having to navigate through folders- because you still have to navigate to the right folder before searching
2) Using search to figure out which folder the project is in- because search won’t find it unless you’re already in the right folder
It would be better if search yielded results from all folders and subfolders.
